For most EV owners, Level 1 charging overnight adds 30 to 50 miles of range. That works for some, but not for drivers with longer daily commutes or larger battery vehicles.
Level 2 charging uses a dedicated 240-volt circuit — the same voltage as your dryer or electric water heater. A Level 2 charger delivers 15 to 30 miles of range per hour, depending on the charger and vehicle. Most EV owners can fully charge overnight on Level 2 with hours to spare.

Your panel's main breaker — the large double-pole breaker at the top — tells you your home's total service capacity. The most common ratings in Florida homes are 200-amp and 100-amp.
