Level 2 charging uses a 240-volt circuit, the same voltage as your dryer or central AC unit. It requires a dedicated 40 to 50-amp circuit and a wall-mounted charging unit installed by a licensed electrician.
Level 2 delivers 20 to 35 miles of range per hour of charging. Plug in overnight for 8 hours and you add 160 to 280 miles. Most EVs go from nearly empty to full in a single overnight charge.

What a Level 2 Installation Involves
A Level 2 EV charger installation is a straightforward electrical job that a licensed electrician completes in a single visit in most cases. Here is what it includes:
- Panel assessment. We confirm your panel has available capacity for a 40 or 50-amp dedicated circuit. Older Florida homes with 100-amp service may need a panel evaluation first.
- Dedicated circuit. We run a new 240-volt dedicated circuit from your panel to your garage or parking area.
- Outlet or hardwired connection. Depending on your charger model, we install a 14-50 outlet or hardwire the charging unit directly.
- Permit. EV charger installation is permitted work in Florida. We pull the permit and schedule the inspection.
